Roots, Dinosaurs, and Microphones: Residency field notes.
I have been talking to my 4 year old son about the difference between organic and geometric shapes, so we have been searching through his toys to find objects that we could put together in new ways to create some new shapes. How David Smith of us, huh? What a fun way to share my art practice with my kids and expand all of our visual vocabulary. Perhaps we will see some of these shapes emerge in my work at some point. I'm really enjoying how this Residency in Motherhood is encouraging a more focused integration of daily life with my children into my painting process and research.
